with 8-10 years of experience in discrete event simulation, preferably using
FlexSim
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing simulation models for Kitchen & Bath product manufacturing processes and warehouse processes. This role requires strong technical expertise in process improvement, resource optimization, and manufacturing system design, good knowledge of lean manufacturing tools, ergonomics, emulation and standard time analysis using MTM along with leadership capabilities to drive end-to-end simulation projects and mentor team members. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the management team to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand manufacturing process of various product lines and Develop and validate
Discrete Event Simulation (DES)
models for current and future manufacturing layouts using
FlexSim
(preferred) or equivalent tools.
Simulate and evaluate production systems to identify bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and enhance throughput and efficiency.
Analyze different manufacturing scenarios and recommend the most cost-effective and efficient solutions.
Support capacity planning, line balancing, and layout optimization for both existing and expansion projects.
Extensively work on optimizing material flow using
bluebotics
simulation software
Creating AGV simulation models, optimizing AGV routes, identifying number of AGVs required and analyzing traffic congestion
Interpret the result and present the findings as business insights
Create alternate options in process to improve process output
This position will be responsible for providing solutions and in the manufacturing/industrial engineering sector for different business units of Kohler Co.
Additional focus would also be managing multiple projects for multiple Kohler locations and executing them on time and delivering them to customers
Leadership & Collaboration:
Lead simulation projects from concept to delivery, ensuring stakeholder alignment and timely execution
Train and mentor new team members on FlexSim and simulation best practices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and plant teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
Promote and market IE simulation capabilities within the organization to expand adoption and business impact.
Data Analytics & Digital Integration:
Integrate simulation outputs with Power BI dashboards for performance visualization and decision-making.
Work with SQL, C++, and other object-oriented programming languages to customize simulation models and develop analytical tools.
Collaborate with smart factory and automation teams for digital integration and data-driven optimization.
Understanding of emulation model in FlexSim/ Plantsim would be the plus.
What we are looking for from your experience
Education:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
Experience:
7-12 years of experience in Industrial Engineering and Discrete Event Simulation (FlexSim preferred).
Proficiency in
FlexSim / Plant Simulation
or equivalent simulation software.
Knowledge of
Lean Manufacturing
,
IE fundamentals
, and
process improvement methodologies
.
Exposure to
Power BI
,
SQL
, and programming languages (
