Job Description

The Assistant Manager / Manager - Retail Talent Excellence and Customer Experience will be responsible for overseeing HR operations and talent management for frontline and store-level employees across the assigned region. This role will focus on recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement, compliance, and retention to ensure a productive and motivated retail workforce. The position will work closely with business and store operations teams to align HR strategies with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Forecast manpower requirements based on business expansion, attrition trends, and seasonal peaks.
  • Design and execute region-specific hiring strategies to attract quality talent for both junior and senior in-store roles.
  • Build a strong sourcing network via campus connections, local consultants, and referrals.
  • Track key recruiting metrics including time-to-fill and source effectiveness to ensure optimal hiring.
Onboarding, Training & Development
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and orientation of new joiners at store and regional levels.
  • Partner with training teams to roll out structured product training, customer service, grooming, and store SOP programs.
  • Implement induction and re-induction modules for new and existing staff to ensure alignment with brand standards.
  • Conduct periodic training need analysis and coordinate refresher training programs.
Employee Engagement & Performance Support
  • Build and maintain high employee morale through consistent engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication platforms.
  • Assist Store Managers and Area Managers in conducting fair and effective performance appraisals.
  • Identify and support high-potential retail staff for career advancement opportunities.
HR Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure complete and accurate maintenance of physical and digital employee records.
  • Support in ensuring legal and statutory compliance at the store level (e.g., Shops & Establishment Act, POSH awareness).
  • Support audits, internal checks, and documentation processes as per company standards.
Employer Branding & Relationship Building
  • Represent the company in campus recruitment initiatives, retail job fairs, and local hiring drives.
  • Use social platforms to promote employee success stories and company culture.
  • Strengthen relationships with store teams through regular visits and feedback sessions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources / Business Management.
  • 4-8 years of HR experience, preferably in the retail or hospitality sector.
  • Strong exposure to store-level HR operations, mass hiring, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation tools.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region.
