Role Purpose
The Assistant Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Manager/Senior Manager by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful management information to a variety of stakeholders including Global Finance Corporate teams, Regional and Hotel users, and the Finance Decision Support teams. They will have a proactive mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for leveraging new technologies-including AI tools-to drive efficiency and add value through smarter ways of working.
Key Accountabilities
1.Ensure timely and accurate loading of data from multiple sources into the reporting systems or dashboards. Applications include those used for IHG and Hotel Management reporting of actuals, budgets, forecast as well as those used for other analytical needs.
2.Validate incoming data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy according to defined rules and business logic.
3.Responsible for organization/outline changes and coordination of those changes with Finance Decision Support, along with SOX/Audit controls and sign-off.
4.Perform regular data audits to maintain data integrity and identify anomalies.
5.Assist in the automation and streamlining of regular reports using tools like GCP, Kyvos, Tableau etc
6.Translate business requirements into meaningful reports and insights for decision-makers.
7.Act as the first point of contact for stakeholders (internal customers) using reporting tools and data outputs.
8.Provide training, guidance, and troubleshooting support on tools
9.Gather feedback and requirements from users to improve existing tools and reporting processes
10.Identify opportunities for process improvements in data handling, validation, and reporting workflows
11.Collaborate with Production Support/GT Development teams to implement enhancements and ensure data infrastructure supports business needs
12.Maintain clear documentation of data sources, processes, validation rules, and issue logs
13.Communicate technical concepts and data insights in a clear, business-friendly manner
14.Ensure delivery of high-quality, accurate data and reports within agreed timelines.
15.Proactively flag issues that might delay delivery and suggest mitigation strategies
16.Train/coach less experienced team members of Data Solution team.
17.Responsible for global passback adjustments in Essbase.
18.Assist in the year end application rollover process and on other global projects as required.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or international equivalent
Experience
  • 5+ years' experience along with team handling in a management accounting or reporting position, preferably including hotel reporting and forecasting
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various systems or databases.
  • Proven track record of working with large data sets, identifying data quality issues, and applying validation rules.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data accuracy, and reconciliation processes.
  • Exposure to KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards, preferably in finance
  • Strong analytical skills to derive insights from data and highlight issues
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, macros, Power Query).
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g.Oracle, PeopleSoft) and data warehousing concepts is a plus
  • Experience supporting internal stakeholders with reporting tools and data-related queries
  • Ability to translate business requirements into reporting logic and data models
  • Strong communication skills to explain data issues or report logic to non-technical users
  • Practical knowledge of automating reports and reducing manual intervention in data handling processes.
  • Experience in identifying process inefficiencies and implementing improvements using tools or scripting.
  • Familiarity with key metrics used in that function can help tailor reports more effectively
