Job Description


- Cash & Check Reconciliation - AM Role Position Summary Perform a variety of accounting reconciliation functions to report financial information in accurate and timely manner. Follow-up with banks and lines of business at client-end for closure of accounting open items. Maintain data and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements. Produce monthly reconciliation statements. Position Summary Manage the work related to Finance Operations Process performance - as per SLAs. Employee retention - as per SLAs. Quality and Productivity Improvement - as per SLAs. Customer Satisfaction Scores / VOC- as per SLAs. Level of subject matter expertise - as per SLAs. Any other essential function that may occur from time to time as directed by the Supervisor Job Responsibilities Effective communication and motivational skills Strong people management skills, ability to maintain high team bonding spirit and boost employee morale Ability to coach and give feedback on an ongoing basis Ability to effectively manage research/resolution/follow-ups for closure of open items Ability to assist new hires such that they are productive on the floor in the shortest possible time frame Effectively plan, prioritize and execute everyday floor operations Strong problem-solving ability Ability to foresee and respond pro-actively on the floor High energy and resilience level Strong computing skills Ability to coordinate & liaison with various support functions / departments to facilitate service delivery with Operations Self-initiated, drive and zeal for continuous improvement Ability to lead and work in a cross-cultural environment Knowledge of the function, process and systems Ability to handle escalations, Client Interactions, where required at the level of Supervisors Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, external regulations and information security standards Process knowledge would certainly be an added advantage Any other essential function that may occur from time to time as directed by the Supervisor Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education Graduate in Accounting / Commerce / Business Administration with at least 15 years of education.. Experience Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a related field is required as AM or TL. Knowledge and skills (general and technical) Experience required in reconciliations, reporting, general accounting, SOX audit walkthroughs etc. is preferred. Perform a variety of accounting reconciliation functions to report financial information in an accurate and timely manner Perform research on variances by using various reconciliation tools and applications Follow-up with banks and lines of business at client-end for closure of accounting open items Maintain data and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements Produce monthly reconciliation statements and various financial reports Perform Pay/No Pay decisions on the checks in exception by using decision making and analytical skills Conduct and Lead SOX walkthroughs for Internal Audit Knowledge and skills (general and technical) Strong knowledge of Accounting principles Knowledge of end to end reconciliation cycle Knowledge about the Insurance industry in US Knowledge about US CultureGood computer navigation skills Good keyboarding speed Good knowledge of complete MS Office suite, MS Excel Proficiency in English Communication skills - should be able to read, interpret business documents and excellent oral/written communication. Should be able to read and write unscripted communication. Analytical and decision making skills Escalate issues if required Data gathering ability/ Eye for detail Team work/ Managing Self / Adaptability Ability to work successfully in production driven environment Adaptability to change Ability to work on routine/standardized transactions Self-disciplined and result oriented Ability to multi task Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to work in multiple shift timings as per business requirement Ensure that the assigned targets are met in accordance with SLA and Internal standards. Ensure that the quality of transaction is in compliance with predefined parameters as defined by Process Excellence. Perform quality check on reconciliations and perform RCA on errors. Provide feedback to the team members. Lead discussions with Stateside teams on various forums like review meetings, weekly virtual huddles etc. Knowledge of Lean principles and application. Prior experience of working on applications like PeopleSoft, CORAL, and Frontier etc. Other Requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training - if required) Proficient knowledge of CMMI modules Working Relationships Internal Contacts (and purpose of relationship): AM for the purpose of reporting performance, escalation handling, clarifying concerns, and seeking feedback and support. Manager for the purpose of settling issues left unresolved by the AM and monthly evaluation of performance. Associate Accountants for the purpose of seeking cooperation & clarification on process-related matters & providing assistance and support when required. Subject Matter Expert for the purpose of work thread related issues and escalated transactions. QCA / Finance Specialist for the purpose of feedback and audit. Trainers for the purpose of Pre-process and Process training. External Contacts (and purpose of relationship) - If Applicable SME / Trainers at the client end for training. Banks all over the client home country for follow-up work for closure of open unreconciled accounting items. Client\'s various lines of businesses for follow-up work for closure of open unreconciled accounting items.
