Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Insurance Sales & Operations will be responsible for driving motor insurance sales while also managing end-to-end insurance operations. This role requires strong customer-handling skills, process management, business development ability, and coordination across teams and partners. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling both field sales responsibilities and office-based operational activities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities



1. Insurance Sales & Business Development



Generate motor insurance sales through leads, customer walk-ins, dealer networks, and channel partners. Promote motor insurance products to customers and explain benefits, features, premium details, and coverage options. Identify new business opportunities through vehicle dealers, workshops, corporates, and referral channels. Achieve monthly targets for new policy sales, renewals, add-on products, and cross-selling. Build and maintain productive relationships with dealers, agents, and partners. Conduct field visits to dealers/workshops to increase insurance penetration.

2. Insurance Operations



Manage policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, and documentation. Verify customer documents and ensure timely and accurate policy generation. Handle customer queries, complaints, and provide after-sales support. Maintain records of all policies, renewals, customer details, and payment data. Coordinate with insurance companies for product updates, premium rates, and underwriting approvals. Ensure accuracy in data entry and compliance with internal processes.

3. Claims Support



Assist customers in filing and tracking motor insurance claims. Coordinate with surveyors, workshops, and insurance company claim teams. Ensure transparent and timely claim settlement updates to customers.

4. Compliance & Reporting



Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and internal company policies. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on sales, renewals, claims, and operational performance. Maintain audit-ready documentation and follow all compliance procedures.

5. Customer Relationship Management



Provide excellent customer service to improve customer satisfaction and retention. Maintain long-term relationships with customers for renewals and referrals. Understand customer needs and suggest suitable policy options.

Qualifications & Experience



Education: Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred). Experience: 2-5 years in Motor Insurance Sales, Operations, or both. Strong knowledge of motor insurance products, underwriting, and claims. Experience in dealer management or field sales preferred. Excellent communication and customer-handling skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word). Ability to manage both field activities and office operations effectively.
