Supports the day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes, including support to clients as they work with and understand these processes. Performs accounting functions specifically in the areas of account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; no work experience required.
OR
2-year degree from an accredited university in Finance and Accounting or related major; 2 years experience in finance and accounting or related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES :
Revenue Verification & Reporting:
Audit and reconcile all revenue transactions, including daily sales from various departments (rooms, food, beverage) and credit card transactions. Prepare and distribute daily and monthly revenue reports for management
Discrepancy Investigation:
Investigate and report on any discrepancies, irregularities, or errors found in revenue, discounts, voids, refunds, or guest folios
Compliance & Policy Adherence:
Ensure all financial activities comply with hotel or company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Monitor and ensure adherence to tax obligations
Reconciliation:
Reconcile Point of Sale (POS) and Property Management System (PMS) reports with supporting documents and clear any discrepancies
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain organized financial records, control documents, and all related documentation, ensuring they are secured according to policies
Month-End Close:
Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing adjusting journal entries and reconciling control ledgers
