Reports To: Sr. Finance Manager / Head of Finance /CEO
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager - Finance & EXIM is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and handling all export-import documentation and transactions. The role demands strong knowledge of finance, banking, foreign trade policy, and customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting:
Handle day-to-day accounting functions including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
Monitor cash flow, fund utilization, and working capital requirements.
Manage banking operations including fund transfers, loan documentation, and LCs.
Support statutory compliance including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other financial regulations.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
Coordinate with auditors (statutory/internal) for periodic audits.
EXIM (Export-Import) Operations:
Handle pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation for exports and imports.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, and banks for shipment and clearance.
Prepare and verify shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc.).
Manage Letter of Credit (LC) documentation and negotiation with banks.
Ensure compliance with EXIM policy, DGFT regulations, FEMA, and RBI guidelines.
Monitor duty drawback claims, MEIS/RODTEP claims, and export incentives.
Liaise with DGFT, Customs, and other regulatory bodies as required.
Banking & Foreign Exchange:
Handle forex transactions including booking forward contracts and monitoring exchange rate fluctuations.
Ensure timely realization of export proceeds and compliance with FEMA norms.
Maintain documentation for export proceeds repatriation and bank reconciliations

Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Commerce; MBA (Finance), CA Inter, or equivalent is preferred.
3-5 years of relevant experience in finance and EXIM operations.
Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs, DGFT, and FEMA.
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, ERP, SAP) and MS Excel.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams and external agencies.

Work Environment:
Office-based with regular coordination with customs, ports, banks, and freight forwarders.
May require occasional travel to port/customs or government offices
