Job Purpose: Officer - Environment is responsible for reviewing and ensuring environmental compliance for ongoing and upcoming projects. This includes managing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports, coordinating with site teams and external consultants, and ensuring alignment with environmental regulations and project timelines.
Responsibilities:
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA):
Review, assess, and finalize Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies for ongoing and upcoming projects to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
Environmental Monitoring:
Coordinate with site teams to ensure environmental compliance at operating sites, addressing any environmental issues promptly.
Waste Management:
Oversee the management, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste, e-waste, and bio-medical waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
Coordination with Consultants & Agencies:
Liaise with external consultants and agencies to ensure timely delivery of environmental assessments, reports, and recommendations for various projects.
Stakeholder Management:
Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal departments, senior management, internal staff, and external stakeholders to ensure environmental objectives are met.
Project Management:
Ensure all environmental-related deliverables are aligned with project timelines and regulatory requirements.
Digital Mindset:
Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
Team Development:
Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success.
Key Stakeholders - Internal:
Environment and EHS Teams, Facility Management, Operations Teams
Key Stakeholders - External:
Environmental Regulatory Bodies, Waste Management Vendors, NGOs and Environmental Advocacy Groups
Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
MSc /BSc (Chemistry/Environmental Science) /BE or B Tech / ME or M Tech (Chemical/Environmental Engg)
Work Experience:
Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in Manufacturing industry / port industry.
