Introduction:
The purpose of the BUK Secured Credit Risk team is to drive value through appropriate Risk Management of relevant credit risk analytics and strategies for the Mortgage portfolios allocated (Residential, Buy to Let).

  • The role holder will be responsible for supporting to drive optimised strategies within approved risk appetite.
  • It will involve producing necessary MI and deep-dive analysis to arrive at appropriate conclusions and present these conclusions at appropriate forums.
  • The role holder will be expected to demonstrate a culture of continuous improvement and maintain an effective working relationship with stakeholders across functions and locations.
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk models across life cycle of various Retail portfolios, with specific focus on Capital /Basel models, Regulatory Expected Loss (EL) and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) will be an added advantage.
The work can involve Acquisition Strategy, Existing Customer Management Strategy, High-Risk Account Management Strategy, Property Valuation and other areas relevant to the Secured Credit Risk organisation.

What will you be doing?
  • Provide best in class analytics, transforming high level requests into focussed and specific analysis.
  • Responsible for monthly BAU reporting and Control/Governance activities for Credit Risk models.
  • Work effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Present and communicate results to Senior Management and drive stakeholder discussions.
  • Contribute to business development activities.
  • Identify new opportunities for enhancing/ streamlining services.

What we’re looking for:
  • Professional working proficiency in SAS/SQL/Excel/PowerPoint. Limited working proficiency in Python is desirable.
  • A degree in an analytical/business related discipline
  • Ability to generate insights from data, assess the commercial / financial impact and recommend action
  • Experience analysing programmes through the lens of risk management
  • Understanding of statistical methods to enable appropriate interpretation of results
  • Familiarity with risk reporting and risk management models.
  • Conceptual thinking – find innovative ways to solve analytical problems
  • Ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines
  • Team work – Commitment and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent story

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Post-graduate degree
  • Extensive experience analysing programmes through the lens of P&L and customer metrics.
  • Familiarity with segmentation tools and strategies.
  • Industry knowledge (ideally experience with major international financial services firm)
  • Effective stakeholder management skills
