We are
seeking
an experienced and highly motivated
Data Scientist
with a strong understanding of the
Finance & Accounting (F&A)
domain to build and deploy advanced analytics solutions that directly support
Finance stakeholders
. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in data-heavy environments, can work
independently
and bridges the gap between data science and finance.
As a key member of the Finance Analytics team, you will develop models, perform deep
analysis
and create tools that drive better business decisions in areas such as financial forecasting, cost optimization, working capital analysis and risk assessment
.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Finance and FP&A stakeholders to
identify
analytical opportunities and translate them into data science solutions.
Experience in implementing statistical/machine learning
/AI
models
with
clear understanding of statistical concepts and understanding of the underlying assumptions of the models.
Build,
test
and deploy predictive models and advanced analytics solutions using Python and SQL.
Perform data wrangling, feature
engineering
and large-scale data analysis from complex financial and operational systems.
Develop automated insights and interactive tools (e.g., dashboards, APIs, notebooks) to deliver actionable outputs to business teams.
Ensure model explainability and align with key finance metrics and business processes.
Partner with Data Engineering to ensure clean and reliable data pipelines for model input.
Ability to
comprehend
business needs, convert them into BRD & TRD (Business/Technical requirement document),
c
ommunicate insights and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Stay current on finance analytics trends and techniques to continuously enhance value delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
BE/B- Tech, BCA, MCA, BSc/MSc, MBA
: Preferred
degree in Data Science
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Relevant
years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar advanced analytics role.
Proficient in Python for data science (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.).
Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
Exposure to Azure Databricks,
Snowflake
or cloud-based data science environments.
Strong knowledge of the Finance & Accounting domain - e.g., P&L, balance sheet, GL data, cost
center
reporting, forecasting, variance analysis.
Experience with time-series forecasting, scenario
modelling
or anomaly detection in financial contexts.
Experience with finance systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or planning tools like Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, etc.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or building lightweight
front-ends
for model output.
Ability to work independently from problem definition through model deployment and insight delivery.
Strong communication
skills and ability to engage with finance business stakeholders.
