Job Description

We are looking for a smart, proactive, and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join the Entertainment Corporate Communications team. The ideal candidate should have strong writing skills, a solid understanding of how corporate and entertainment media function, and a high level of curiosity. The role will play a key part in supporting the overall corporate communications strategy for JioStar by driving key communication objectives for the business, developing compelling content, strengthening media outreach, building good media relationships, and enhancing leadership visibility across relevant media, industry events, B-schools, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Communications & Content Development

Draft clear, engaging, and high-quality content including press releases, messaging notes, leadership talking points, event briefs and media Q&As. Support narrative development for key business announcements, industry participation, and leadership interviews. Assist in creating briefing books and communication plans for events, launches, and strategic milestones. Ensure accuracy, coherence, and brand consistency across all communication material.

Media Relations & Monitoring

Coordinate closely with PR agencies on media outreach, release dissemination, story pitching, and follow-ups. Build a solid understanding of the entertainment, business, and trade media landscape relevant to JioStar. Track news cycles, media trends, competitor updates, and industry developments Support planning and execution of media interactions, press events, and interview opportunities.

Leadership Visibility

Track, research, and identify relevant conferences, summits, festivals, industry panels, and award platforms for leadership participation. Maintain a calendar of domestic and international opportunities aligned with business priorities. Assist in preparing nomination submissions, speaker profiles, and supporting documents. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners on communication requirements for events.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with marketing, programming, PR, and digital teams to ensure aligned messaging across all consumer and corporate communication touchpoints. Support leadership communication requirements by drafting talking points, preparing notes for events, and managing approvals. Ensure smooth coordination of all communication deliverables with internal stakeholders.

Crisis Support

Assist in drafting holding statements, gathering inputs from relevant teams, and helping shape the most appropriate communication plan to mitigate potential issues. Monitor chatter around key shows, talent, and industry developments to identify and flag emerging risks at an early stage.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in corporate communications, entertainment PR, media relations, journalism, or related fields, preferably in large media conglomerates. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear narratives Solid understanding of how corporate and entertainment media operate; familiarity with key outlets and journalists is essential. Experience in managing senior stakeholder expectations and cross-functional collaboration. Familiarity with the entertainment ecosystem (TV, OTT, films) will be an added advantage.
