The Assistant Manager - Controllership would be responsible the financial reporting and local Statutory audit process of proprietary entities across Northern European markets. The role is based out of India and will support process of financial statement preparation along with local statutory audits for entities in Nordic countries. The role will be a part of the Legal Entity Controllership organization, focusing on compliance and financial reporting standards specific to Northern European regulatory environments.



What You'll do



Lead the financial reporting and local statutory audits across Northern European markets, involving preparation and filing of statutory financial statements under local GAAP, and coordinating with shared service centers (internal and external) for audit-related requirements.



Work closely with external auditors (Big4/others) in Nordic markets to understand requirements and agree on timelines, ensuring compliance with local regulatory stops.



Develop comprehensive audit plans for Northern European entities based on discussions with auditors, communicating and aligning the plan with internal teams to ensure efficient and timely audit execution.



Support statutory audit processes for designated Northern European markets and collaborate with relevant teams on key audit issues, providing periodic status reports.



Coordinate with Tax, Controller/hubs, and other partners in the region to obtain and provide required information and clarifications for audit purposes



Support filing requirements specific to Northern European markets.



Ensure compliance with local accounting policies, implementing standard procedures and practices across Nordic markets to achieve regional standardization.



Assist team leader in regional project-related work.



Build and maintain relationships with key contacts across processes and functions within the company and externally in Northern Europe, maintaining process understanding and identifying improvement opportunities.



Provide oversight of legal entities in the Northern European region.



What We're looking for



CA/ACCA with Minimum 3+ years of proven experience or an experienced accountant with 5+ years statutory audit exp.



Candidates with prior experience in a Big4 Audit firm will be given a preference.



Technical Skills-Understanding of accounting standards followed by the European Union, with knowledge of Nordic countries' financial reporting requirements. Knowledge of Swedish (BFN), Danish (FSR) & Norwegian (NRS) accounting standards will be an advantage.

Proactively finds opportunities to improve current financial processes, develops pragmatic and creative solutions tailored to Northern European business contexts



Presents compelling, well-structured rationales for recommendations, takes decisive positions on financial and operational issues, and effectively influences partner opinions across different Northern European markets
