Job Description

Develop detailed project roadmaps, set milestones, and define deliverables to ensure a clear path to success

Development and origination of design concepts, analyse and resolve associated technical problems, code compliance, conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates and assist in both long range and short-term strategic planning, and manpower planning

Develop detailed engineering, create bid packages, including finalized drawings, specifications, soil test data and/or other related information

Prepare the ECA for each project complete with all necessary information required to judge economic benefits of a particular project

Turning organizational goals into actionable project plans.

Defining the project scope, setting clear objectives, and mapping out a detailed plan considering timelines, resources, and potential risks.

Ensure that the project aligns with the company's overall vision and long-term goals.

Planning everything from execution to delivery

o Breaking the project into tasks and sub-tasks

o Define the scope of the project

o Steady progression by taking up tasks in small chunks

o Setting an appropriate schedule for the development of certain deliverables

o Highlighting the project dependencies

Oversee the execution of construction plans on-site

Ensure that work is carried out according to design specifications and safety standards

Address any technical issues that arise

Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner

Conduct on-site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).

Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications

Involving identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the project.

Must anticipate potential challenges, such as resource shortages or market changes, and develop strategies to address them

Requires constant monitoring and adjustments as new risks arise

Ensuring the project stays within financial limits while delivering value.

Tracking expenses, they must make strategic decisions that optimize resources without overspending

Must be vigilant, constantly tracking expenses and making real-time decisions like reallocating funds or cutting unnecessary costs to stay within the budget

Defining quality criteria, establishing quality assurance processes, and conducting checks throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure processes are optimized for efficiency and compliance

Identify quality issues early and implement corrective actions.

Leading and coordinating the work of a team of architects & Engineers

Align teams from various departments, such as architecture, engineering, marketing, and finance, each with unique priorities and expertise. Effective leadership ensures that all teams work cohesively toward the project's goals

Investigate alternatives and perform value engineering throughout construction process

Collaborating with engineers, surveyors, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project

Develop a strategic internal communication plan that outlines who needs to be informed, when, and through which channels

Overseeing and guiding the construction process, ensuring that the project adheres to the planned design, quality standards, and safety regulations

Ensure that changes are controlled, minimizing disruptions and aligning the project with its goals.

Maintaining a clear record of decisions, progress, and lessons learned, supporting transparency

Managing project deadlines and budgets, and making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track

Addressing any issues or delays that may arise during the construction process

Stay updated with emerging construction technologies, automation tools (e.g., BIM, drone surveys), and project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project)

Attend industry seminars, leadership development programs, and certifications in advanced project management or safety standards.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement by initiating internal training sessions and cross-functional learning among teams.

Benchmark and implement best practices from successful large-scale projects.

Mentor mid-level engineers and successors to build internal leadership pipeline.

Identify gaps in site processes and recommend process engineering or digital interventions for efficiency.

Performance management involves setting clear expectations for team members, monitoring their progress, and providing constructive feedback.

Should create individual performance plans for each team member that align with team and business goals.

They should also provide ongoing training and development opportunities to help team members improve their skills and achieve their targets.

Should provide regular feedback and support to help their team members reach their goals.
