City Greens -- a fast-growing AgriTech startup building automation and AI-driven solutions for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) -- is looking for an Assistant Manager - Business Development to drive customer acquisition, solution selling, and revenue growth across India and international markets.
This role is core to the sales process. You will work with qualified leads (from advisory and inbound channels) and take ownership from solution structuring to commercial closure, coordinating closely with technical and operations teams.
Role & Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end sales cycle for qualified prospects, from requirement validation to deal closure
Conduct detailed discovery discussions to understand customer needs, budgets, and timelines
Present tailored AgriTech automation solutions through calls, video meetings, and proposals
Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals, quotations, and agreements
Maintain disciplined follow-ups and pipeline tracking to ensure timely closures
Work closely with internal teams (engineering, operations, customer advisory) to ensure solution feasibility and delivery alignment
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales documentation
Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets with a strong focus on value-based selling rather than volume-led sales
Requirements
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Client Acquisition roles
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi (mandatory)
Proven ability to handle consultative / solution-based selling
Comfortable with structured follow-ups, negotiations, and closing discussions
Ability to work independently, prioritise leads, and manage a sales pipeline
Organised, outcome-oriented, and accountable for targets
Prior experience in B2B, technology, AgriTech, SaaS, or project-based sales is a strong advantage
Startup experience preferred but not mandatory
