Job Description

Lead the establishment and implementation of technical protocols, policies and management pertaining to biomedical equipment.

Responsible for assessing and prioritizing new installment/ replacement requests, facilitate the decision along with the respective Clinical Heads and Medical Director and manage annual operating budget for the bio-medical engineering function

Conduct pre-purchase evaluation, assess overall cost of ownership and device hazard for all incoming equipment & machinery before official acceptance & payment.

Develop preventive maintenance checklist and pro-active monitoring schedule to avoid equipment down-time and ensure the same is followed proactively by the team

Benchmark the latest technology and equipment in bio-medical engineering through networking and internet

Arrange frequent training programs, both Internal and External- on the equipment for all the end users. Provide on the job training and support to the equipment users and operators

Maintain safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests, recommending and complying with procedures, training and guiding medical and healthcare personnel, complying with codes

Coordinate with Purchase and vendors for AMCs, CMCs, Contract renewals etc. Negotiate service agreements with vendors wherever possible, to ensure best performance of equipment

Coordinate with stores and purchase on raising regular/ non-regular indents

Supervise the team to resolve queries/ concerns raised by internal stakeholders and coordinate with external vendors for the same. Follow-up with vendors for pending repair/service requests

Liaison with manufacturers to ensure the feasibility of a product in terms of design and economic viability whether the equipment is in budget of biomedical department

Report monthly quality indicators to the Medical Director and Unit Head

Participate in the investigation and reporting of medical device related incidents

Lead the process of selection, procurement, installation, maintenance and services as per regulatory requirements, internal guidelines and standards

Involve actively in the activities of the hospital's safety committee & checking safety hazards

Ensure maintenance of biomedical equipment supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt.

Responsible for improving biomedical equipment performance by studying machine-patient interaction, conferring with equipment users, developing modifications, collaborating with equipment manufacturers

Responsible for maintaining the equipment to the best of its performance by organizing a planned maintenance program for all equipment's and attending to emergency breakdowns and repairs

Supervise Installation of new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, vendor training programs, maintaining personal networks.

Review weekly/Monthly MIS reports and record of equipment history, breakdown registers and trackers and registers on equipment performance, prepared by the team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
