Key Responsibilities



1. Material Receipt & Inspection



Supervise the unloading and receiving of materials at the site store. Verify material quality and quantity against purchase orders and delivery challans. Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and acceptance of materials. Ensure all materials are properly tagged and stored as per identification codes.

2. Storage & Preservation



Maintain systematic storage for different categories -- mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, etc. Implement preservation methods for sensitive materials (e.g., lubricants, paints, electrical items). Maintain FIFO/LIFO or project-specific inventory control methods.

3. Material Issue & Return



Issue materials to site engineers as per Material Requisition (MR) / Issue Slip. Record all issues and returns in ERP or manual registers. Reconcile materials issued vs. consumed at regular intervals.

4. Inventory Management



Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for key materials. Conduct monthly and annual stock verification. Reconcile discrepancies and report to the Manager - Stores. Prepare material consumption and wastage reports.

5. Documentation & Systems



Update GRN (Goods Receipt Note), MRS (Material Requisition Slip), and MIR (Material Issue Register). Ensure timely data entry in ERP (SAP / Oracle / Tally / internal system). Maintain traceable documentation for all store transactions.

6. Coordination & Reporting



Coordinate with Procurement, Project Execution, QA/QC, and Finance teams. Provide MIS reports: daily receipts, issues, stock statements, and material status. Support project audits and material reconciliation during project closure.

7. Safety & Compliance



Ensure safe storage and handling as per HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) norms. Comply with ISO and internal quality management system procedures.

Key Skills & Competencies



Knowledge of EPC materials (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation). ERP / SAP / Tally proficiency. Strong inventory management and documentation skills. Leadership and team supervision at site stores. Understanding of project material flow and logistics. Analytical skills for stock and consumption reporting.

Qualification & Experience



Education: Any Graduate or

Diploma / B.Tech / Graduate (preferably in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil / Industrial / Supply Chain).

Experience:

10-15 years in store operations in EPC / Construction / Infrastructure projects.

Certifications (optional but beneficial):

+ SAP MM Module
+ ISO Internal Auditor
+ Material Management / Supply Chain Certification

KPIs / Performance Metrics




Accuracy of inventory records (% variance). On-time material availability to site. Reduction in non-moving / obsolete stock. Compliance with documentation and audit standards. * Material reconciliation accuracy at project closure.
