Assistant Manager - Store

Job Purpose:




To ensure efficient management of materials, consumables, tools, and equipment at the project/site store, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring timely issue and receipt of materials to support uninterrupted project execution in compliance with company policies and EPC project standards.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Material Management



Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment. Verify material quality and quantity as per purchase order, packing list, and delivery challans. Ensure proper tagging, identification, and classification of materials for easy traceability. Coordinate with Quality, Purchase, and Site Execution teams for material inspection and acceptance.

2. Inventory Control



Maintain accurate stock records in ERP or manual systems. Conduct periodic stock verification and reconciliation with finance. Monitor stock levels to avoid shortage or overstocking situations. Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage or deterioration of materials.

3. Documentation & Reporting



Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note), MRN (Material Receipt Note), and Material Issue Slips. Update inventory in ERP/software systems daily. Prepare monthly store reports: stock statements, slow-moving/non-moving inventory, material consumption summary, etc. Coordinate with HO for material transfers, return, or disposal.

4. Logistics & Coordination



Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and procurement for timely delivery of materials. Supervise unloading/loading activities ensuring safety and minimal material damage. Manage inter-site material transfer and maintain related documentation.

5. Compliance & Audit



Ensure compliance with company store procedures, safety norms, and audit requirements. Support internal/external audits by providing necessary records and justifications. Implement and monitor housekeeping, safety, and 5S practices in store premises.

6. Team Management



Supervise storekeepers, assistants, and helpers. Train team members on documentation, safety, and ERP practices. Ensure disciplined and efficient functioning of store operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:



Strong knowledge of store management processes in EPC/construction projects. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / etc.). Understanding of material codes, specifications, and construction consumables. Good analytical, reporting, and communication skills. Knowledge of safety and handling of hazardous materials.

Qualification & Experience:



Qualification:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering OR Graduate with Diploma in Material Management.

Experience:

6-10 years in store/material management in EPC / Infrastructure / Construction projects.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):




Inventory accuracy percentage. Timeliness of material issue/receipt documentation. Reduction in material shortages and surpluses. Compliance with audit standards. * ERP update accuracy and timeliness.
