Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Accounts will support the accounting and finance functions of the organisation. This role involves assisting with financial reporting, ledger maintenance, budgeting, compliance and leading a small team of accounting staff. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, a solid understanding of Indian accounting standards, and experience with financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded. Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and prepare financial statements. Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely payment and collection. Perform bank reconciliations, ledger reconciliations and cost centre reconciliations. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, analysing variances and providing recommendations. Ensure compliance with taxation (GST, TDS), statutory audits, internal controls and financial policies. Support the implementation and optimisation of accounting software and process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance. A professional qualification (CA Inter, ICWA, MBA Finance) is a plus. Proficient in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks). Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
