Assistant Manager - Accounting, Controllership



The Assistant Manager will be a key accounting member in the APAC Network and DTC Controllership Accounting Team and should plan, execute, and coordinate Accounting Functions, as well as any relevant operational accounting requirements based on local statutory requirements of multiple legal entities of Warner Bros. Discovery Networks and DTC Businesses within APAC countries. The role will be based in Hyderabad, India and will report to the Senior Manager based in Hyderabad.


The

Assistant Manager

will support the Controllership Accounting function across multiple legal entities in

Taiwan, China, and the Philippines

. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end accounting, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and audit coordination in accordance with

IFRS

.


The role will work closely with the

Record-to-Report (RTR)

,

Revenue

,

Accounts Payable

,

Accounts Receivable

, and

Tax

teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with both

local statutory

and

corporate accounting policies

.


The Assistant Manager will also coordinate

external audits

and contribute to

process improvement

initiatives across the region.

Financial Accounting & Reporting



Support the monthly and quarterly

financial close

process under

US GAAP

and reconcile to local GAAP. Perform

balance sheet flux analyses

, and maintain

SOX/internal control compliance

. Prepare or review

local statutory financial statements

in accordance with each jurisdiction's requirements. Partner with Record-to-Report (RTR) and Revenue teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Audit & Compliance Management



Lead and coordinate

statutory audits

for entities in Taiwan, China, and the Philippines. Prepare and manage audit schedules, respond to queries, and ensure timely audit closure. Collaborate with

Tax

and

Treasury

teams on

transfer pricing

and

tax audits

.

Process Improvement & Systems



Identify opportunities to

enhance process efficiency

, automation, and standardization across entities with are arising from audit outcome or self-analysis. Participate in or support system upgrades and transformation projects (e.g.,

SAP S/4HANA, Blackline

).

Stakeholder Collaboration



Work closely with global and regional finance teams, auditors, and business stakeholders. Handle accounting and audit-related queries promptly and professionally. Provide accounting guidance and control support to shared service and local teams.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

.

CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification

preferred. Minimum

5-8 years of accounting and controllership experience

, ideally in a

multinational environment

. Strong knowledge of

IFRS

and

US GAAP

Hands-on experience with

statutory audits and financial statement preparation

Proficient in

SAP (or similar ERP systems)

and advanced

Microsoft Excel

skills. Excellent written and spoken

English.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work across multiple time zones and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
