Job Description

The Assistant Manager, Accounting Operations is responsible for applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. The location is Bangalore, India. Initially the role will be 100% remote, but as Vontier establishes a presence in Bangalore, the expectation would be a hybrid work schedule.

\xc2\xb7 Assist in month-end closing and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

\xc2\xb7 Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and financial analytics, for properly stated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy.

\xc2\xb7 Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company. Communicate these findings through written narratives and oral presentations to management.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure SOX compliance for corporate accounting.

\xc2\xb7 Assist in the preparation of reporting packages, as required, to comply with corporate financial reporting requirements and statutory regulations.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and review of corporate expenses, ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy. Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.

\xc2\xb7 Work closely with treasury and cash accounting; lease accounting, consolidation & external reporting and Vontier business segments finance & accounting teams.

\xc2\xb7 Assist with audit requests from EY, our corporate audit firm.

\xc2\xb7 Submit recommendations for improving the company\xe2\x80\x99s finance & accounting processes.

\xc2\xb7 Perform account reconciliations using Blackline.

\xc2\xb7 Perform special projects, ad-hoc reports, and analysis as required.

\xc2\xb7 Perform financial analysis using automation tools to simplify, standardize finance & accounting processes.

\xc2\xa7 BS, BA, or MS Degree in Finance or Accounting is required

\xc2\xa7 Chartered Accountant license is preferred

\xc2\xa7 Experience with financial systems

\xc2\xa7 5+ years of experience in a large international business or public accounting

\xc2\xa7 Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX

\xc2\xa7 Must be hands-on and detail oriented

\xc2\xa7 Candidate must be able to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed organization

\xc2\xa7 Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills

\xc2\xa7 Capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment

\xc2\xa7 Should be curious; willing to ask questions and think creatively to solve problems

\xc2\xa7 Proficient in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel)

\xc2\xa7 Proven experience with Cash accounting/Treasury support

\xc2\xa7 Proven experience with Blackline and Concur finance and accounting tools

\xc2\xa7 Driven to automate and simplify financial processes using intelligent automation tools
