Job Description

Maintain, catalog, and update the hospital's library collection (print and digital). Assist doctors, nurses, researchers, and students in finding relevant clinical and academic resources. Manage subscriptions to medical journals, databases (e.g., PubMed, UpToDate, Cochrane), and library software. Provide training sessions on database use, literature searching, and referencing tools. Perform literature searches for patient care, continuing medical education, and clinical audits. Support Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and accreditation processes. Collaborate with other hospitals and academic libraries for inter-library loans and information exchange. Ensure compliance with copyright laws and licensing agreements. Maintain statistical reports on library usage and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Education:

Master's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or equivalent, preferably with a specialization in health sciences or medical librarianship.

Experience:

1-3 years in a medical, academic, or research library setting preferred

Skills:

Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical research databases. Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills. Proficiency in library management software and digital tools. Ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals and administrative staff.
