The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for supporting and managing the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep of the mall premises. This includes supervising housekeeping teams, maintaining hygiene in public areas, washrooms, food courts, and service corridors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing day-to-day housekeeping operations across the entire mall premises.
Supervise and coordinate with in-house and outsourced housekeeping teams.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness in public areas, escalators, elevators, washrooms, food courts, back-office areas, and parking zones.
Conduct daily inspections to monitor cleanliness and maintenance.
Coordinate with pest control vendors and ensure timely execution of schedules.
Handle guest complaints and service requests related to cleanliness and hygiene.
Monitor and control housekeeping consumables and inventory (cleaning materials, equipment, uniforms).
Ensure timely garbage collection, segregation, and disposal in line with mall SOPs.
Train housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, use of equipment, safety, and emergency procedures.
Prepare duty rosters, shift allocations, and track staff attendance.
Maintain records and generate daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping reports.
Collaborate with maintenance and security departments for seamless operations.
Ensure compliance with local health, fire, and sanitation regulations.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in housekeeping management in large commercial spaces (e.g. shopping malls, airports, convention centers).
Proven leadership experience in managing medium to large housekeeping teams.
Sound knowledge of cleaning equipment, floor care, and sanitation practices.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with waste management protocols and safety compliance.
Proficient in using housekeeping or facilities management systems and MS Office tools.
Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as per operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Hospitality, Facility Management, or related discipline.
Experience managing outsourced housekeeping contracts or vendors.
Knowledge of green cleaning practices and sustainability initiatives.
