Assistant General Manager (AGM)



Job description:



The Assistant General Manager (CRM) will be responsible for leading and managing Customer Relationship Management activities for Aviation and Defense Projects, with a focus on Sales, Marketing, Tendering, and Customer Engagement. This role involves direct customer interface, bid management, and project coordination with DRDO, PSUs, Defense establishments, and Commercial Aviation clients.

Key Responsibilities:



Sales & Business Development:



1. Drive sales and marketing activities for Aviation & Defense projects, achieving targeted revenues.

2. Identify and develop new business opportunities with Defense organizations (DRDO, PSUs) and Commercial Aviation clients.

3. Prepare and present business proposals, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.

4. Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of tenders, bids, and RFPs in compliance with customer specifications and government guidelines.

5. Handle pricing strategies, negotiations, and closure of contracts.

Customer Relationship Management:



1. Act as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for key customers, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and relationship development.

2. Manage customer expectations throughout project execution, including after-sales support.

3. Conduct regular customer meetings, site visits, and technical discussions to understand customer requirements and project status.

4. Strengthen long-term partnerships with key Defence and Aviation customers.

Project Coordination & Team Leadership:



1. Lead and manage a team of Managers and Engineers handling Pre-Sales, Technical Proposals, Project Communication Coordination, and After-Sales Support.

2. Monitor project milestones, ensure effective project execution, and address any bottlenecks proactively.

3. Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Finance, etc.) to align deliverables with customer requirements.

4. Oversee all project documentation, reporting, and compliance with company and customer standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:



1. Education: B.E/ B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related disciplines.

2. Experience: 20+ years in Sales, Marketing, or Project Coordination, preferably in Aviation and Defense sectors.

3. Proven experience in handling tenders and contracts with DRDO, Defense PSUs, and Government Agencies.

4. Exposure to Commercial Aviation Sales is an added advantage.

5. Strong understanding of Defense procurement procedures, offset policies, and compliance standards.

6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

7. Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and tender management portals.

8. Leadership qualities with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver results under tight deadlines.
