Reporting to:

General Manager / Managing Director

The AGM - Transportation Services will be responsible for managing and overseeing end-to-end operations of the company's transportation services. The role requires strong expertise in transportation/logistics operations, fleet management, compliance, client servicing, and people management to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable business operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective service delivery. Manage fleet utilization, route planning, scheduling, and dispatch. Monitor vehicle performance, fuel efficiency, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Business & Client Management

Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure high service satisfaction. Handle client escalations, resolve operational challenges, and implement corrective actions. Support in business growth, contract renewals, and identifying new opportunities in the transportation sector.

People & Team Management

Lead and supervise operations staff, drivers, and support teams. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and labor laws. Conduct regular training, performance reviews, and workforce optimization.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory and safety standards requirements related to vendors and operations. Ensure compliance with all RTO, transport, and government regulations. Implement safety standards for drivers and vehicles. Monitor and control accident/incident reporting and resolution.

Financial & Cost Control

Optimize operational costs through effective route planning, fuel management, and vendor negotiations. Support budgeting, MIS reporting, and cost analysis for senior management.

Team & Performance Management:



Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members to support their professional development.

Lead, mentor, and develop teams to achieve high performance. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence. Ensure high standards of service/product quality to enhance customer satisfaction. Address operational challenges and implement solutions to improve customer experience. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Qualification & Experience:



Graduate / Postgraduate

Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the Transportation Service industry

, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial/AGM or senior operations role.

Preferred Skills:



Industry knowledge: Deep knowledge and expertise in service sector

Decision-making: Sound decision-making skills based on data and critical analysis.

Experience with ERP and operational management software.

Effective communication, both written and verbal, is needed to convey ideas, make presentations, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.

Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
