Role Overview:
The Assistant General Manager - Marketing (Hospitality) will act as a strategic lead and governance authority for marketing initiatives across all hospitality properties. This role ensures brand consistency, marketing effectiveness, and business growth through performance monitoring, analytics, innovation, and advisory support to property-level teams. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership to align marketing strategies with organizational goals and brand philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Oversight & Governance
Serve as the central supervisory authority for all hospitality marketing initiatives across properties.
Review annual marketing plans, budgets, campaign calendars, and brand collaterals developed by property teams and external agencies.
Ensure alignment of property marketing strategies with group-level objectives and positioning.
2. Performance Monitoring & Analytics
Track and analyze key performance indicators such as occupancy trends, digital metrics (traffic, conversions, RoAS), and campaign ROI.
Conduct regular marketing audits and benchmark performance across properties.
Identify improvement areas and recommend corrective or strategic actions.
Present marketing insights and performance updates to senior leadership.
3. Brand Consistency & Positioning
Ensure brand consistency across all guest touchpoints--digital, print, and on-property communications--in line with brand philosophy and luxury positioning.
Guide the creation and usage of corporate brand assets and content to maintain a premium brand identity.
4. Advisory Support to Property Marketing Teams
Act as an internal consultant and mentor to property-level marketing teams or agencies.
Provide strategic direction and share best practices in marketing, communications, and digital campaigns.
Help property teams leverage an optimal mix of traditional and digital channels to maximize visibility and revenue.
5. Online Reputation & Review Management
Supervise the reputation management of all properties across key platforms (TripAdvisor, Google Reviews, Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, etc.).
Guide teams on timely guest response management, sentiment analysis, and service recovery communication.
Benchmark review performance against competitors and provide insights to improve guest satisfaction and perception.
Oversee social listening activities and escalate potential brand-impacting issues to leadership.
6. Innovation & Market Intelligence
Stay updated on emerging trends in hospitality marketing, guest behavior, digital innovation, and luxury travel.
Recommend innovative ideas, pilot initiatives, and new technologies to enhance marketing effectiveness and guest engagement.
Support the evolution of marketing practices for group-wide excellence.
7. Technical & Functional Expertise
Strong understanding of hospitality marketing strategies and performance metrics.
Hands-on knowledge of SEO, social media management, online reputation management, and mystery audits.
Experience in performance marketing on travel aggregator platforms and data-driven campaign optimization.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
12-15 years of relevant experience in hospitality marketing, brand management, or digital marketing, preferably within premium or luxury hotel chains.
Proven ability to manage multi-property marketing operations and external agency relationships.
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with a creative mindset.
