Job Description

Handle Corporate Affairs & Government liaison for group companies.


Liaise with various State & Union Ministries including Commerce, Finance, Health & Family Welfare, Industries, Agriculture, Environment and key departments (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, PESO, Labor, DIPP, Pollution Control, NGT, DGFT, GEDA, DCGI, FSSAI, Boilers, DISH, CBDT, Factories, CDSCO, MoEF, local bodies, District Admin). Ensure proper coordinate with Ministries, Legislators, senior bureaucrats, statutory bodies, regulators, etc., to strategize and improve market and business opportunities. Draft, legally vet, submit & interact for all approvals/permissions/incentives across functions like production, operations, marketing, institutional sales, exports/imports, including legal issue reviews. Lobby with political parties, opinion leaders, trade bodies, statutory agencies, communities, Trade Unions, and neighboring village-heads around business units. Initiate and manage commercial interactions with government institutions (e.g., Defense Medical Services, ICMR, NCDC, NIRT, Health Directorates & IDNs). Track sales evolution and industry movement. Lead Crisis Communication and manage crisis mitigation activities. Manage pre- and in-media relations for policy influence and representation at national trade bodies. Drive CSR and sustainability initiatives into business operations. Manage key government communication, statutory audits, production plans, regulatory visits, queries, land acquisition, due diligence, court cases & award applications.
Key Responsibilities:


Policy Advocacy & Analysis:
o Monitor, analyze, and interpret relevant government policies, legislation, and regulations affecting the pharmaceutical sector.


o Lead the development and execution of advocacy strategies on key policy issues.Stakeholder Engagement: o Build and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, regulatory agencies (e.g., CDSCO, MoHFW), and industry associations (e.g., OPPI, IPA).


o Represent the company in external forums, working groups, and consultations with policymakers.


Regulatory Affairs Support: o Collaborate with internal regulatory and legal teams to align on compliance matters and provide insights on upcoming regulatory changes.
o Support in resolving government-related operational issues (e.g., approvals, permits, inspections).


Strategy & Communication: o Develop government affairs strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
o Prepare briefs, position papers, and communication materials for leadership and external stakeholders.


Risk Mitigation:
o Identify and manage policy and regulatory risks that could impact the organization's operations and reputation.


o Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, codes of conduct, and lobbying guidelines.



Qualifications:


Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Pharmacy, or related field. 10-15 years of relevant experience in government affairs/public policy within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industry. Deep understanding of Indian pharmaceutical regulatory landscape and policy ecosystem.
