Position Summary:
The Assistant Finance Manager is accountable to the Finance Manager, Asia Pacific (Ex-China) and is responsible for ensuring accounts and tax standards are applied accurately to meet financial reporting and tax requirements for the India entity.
Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

  • Oversee month-end closing processes and ensuring compliance with local and group reporting requirements.
  • Perform variance, cost, profit and trending analysis.
  • Ensure direct and indirect tax returns are prepared and filed in accordance with the local law and statutes.
  • Lead and manage statutory audit, tax and transfer pricing reporting. Liaise with auditors and tax agents and ensuring filing timelines are met.
  • Monitor finance and tax related regulatory changes. Implement required system and process changes as appropriate.
  • Interface and work with external consultants, interpret / challenge viewpoints based on business knowledge.
  • Provide advisory and support projects where expertise is required.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Other ad hoc requests and support as required.
A successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Chartered Accountant with at least 5 years of accounting and tax experience.
  • Experience in SAP system, a shared service centre environment or an MNC will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of India accounting and tax standards, relevant laws and regulations.
  • A responsible team player with good communication, follow-up and inter-personal skills.
  • Able to lead and coach team member.
  • Proactive and willing to engage colleagues in other functions and countries to resolve issues and prepared to take on new challenges.
  • Meticulous, able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong sense of organization and ability to prioritize the tasks.
  • Self-driven, able to work independently and prepared to take on new challenges.
  • Good analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluent in both written and spoken English.
