Job Description

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager in overseeing the financial health of the organization. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, supporting audits, preparing financial reports, and assisting in strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.

Accounting & Reporting

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements as per statutory requirements. Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (Income Tax, GST, TDS, ROC, etc.). Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for audits and inspections. Maintain proper documentation and internal control processes.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

Monitor daily cash flow and banking operations. Manage working capital and support investment/borrowing decisions.

Policy & Process Improvement

Assist in implementing accounting systems, internal controls, and financial policies. Drive process automation and efficiency in finance operations.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and corporate laws. Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (SAP, Tally, Oracle, or equivalent). Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Strong communication, leadership, and team management abilities.

Qualification & Experience:

Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory. 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or audit. Prior experience in [Industry, e.g., Manufacturing, IT, FMCG, etc.] will be an advantage.
