Job Summary:


The Assistant Finance Controller (AFC) plays a crucial role in the Shared Services Organisation (GSSC), acting as the CFO/ CCFO's eyes, ears, and hands at the outsourced location. The AFC is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency, while remaining completely action-oriented within the shared services office. This role demands joint ownership of the company's books of accounts and seamless collaboration with the Global Process Owner (GPO) to drive synergies across different functional towers and clusters. The AFC is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the CCFO, ensuring all financial operations align with business objectives and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:



Serve as the CCFO's direct representative for the cluster at the outsourced location, ensuring complete transparency and alignment with financial objectives. Actively manage and take joint ownership of financial operations and the company's books of accounts. Work as an integral part of the Shared Services team to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in financial processes. Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the CCFO, addressing financial queries related to the specific cluster. Collaborate closely with the OTC & PTP teams along with the GPOs to drive synergies across operational towers and clusters. Ensure all accounting processes align with business needs and regulatory requirements required and informed by the CCFO. Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion. Conduct high-level reviews of Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements, identifying errors, omissions, or inconsistencies. Provide reasonable assurance to the CFO/ CCFO regarding the completeness and accuracy of the General Ledger (GL). Control, drive, review, and sign off on all reconciliations related to the scope defined for the Shared Services Center. Co-own the Month-end Close calendar along with the CCFO/ CFO and target closure of books within those timelines Engage with the CCFO and Finance Managers on compliance-related concerns and potential risks. Ensure a hands-on, action-oriented approach to resolving financial issues and improving process efficiencies. Respond promptly to queries and requests from the CCFO and Finance Managers, ensuring clarity and resolution of financial matters.

Essential Capabilities:



Strong financial acumen with the ability to serve as a strategic extension of the CFO/ CCFO. Expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and controlling within a Shared Services framework. Strong operational and executional focus to ensure accurate and timely financial processes. Ability to analyse financial statements and identify errors or discrepancies. Experience in working with outsourced finance functions and shared services models. Proficiency in financial controls, reconciliations, and risk management. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial data in a clear and concise manner. Proactive problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset. Advanced proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and accounting tools.

Qualifications & Experience:



Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Intermediate, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent finance qualification.

10+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a Shared Services or Outsourcing environment managing/ working on Record to Report and/ controllership positions.

Prior experience in financial controllership roles or working with global finance teams.

Strong understanding of regulatory MIS reporting, book closures, Tax returns etc..

This role is pivotal in ensuring financial discipline, compliance, and operational efficiency within the Shared Services Organisation while serving as a key finance partner to the CFO.
