What this job involves:
Prioritising the facilities\xe2\x80\x99 needs
Working with both the facilities manager and the assistant facilities manager, you\xe2\x80\x99ll oversee the property\xe2\x80\x99s day-to-day operations and ensure that all administrative functions, security issues and facility services are covered. Likewise, you\xe2\x80\x99ll strive for continuous improvement in the process.
You\xe2\x80\x99ll also keep an eye out on the property\xe2\x80\x99s supplies and ensure that it has adequate stocks and materials to keep the operations smooth like a well-oiled machine. Likewise, you\xe2\x80\x99ll manage supply and service contracts as approved by clients.
In addition, you\xe2\x80\x99ll help mitigate risks by taking part in emergency evacuation procedures, and handling crisis management and business continuity plans. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be on top of health and safety issues that may arise, and actively participate in reviewing them.
Also part of your mandate is to monitor the property\xe2\x80\x99s budget. As the person in charge, you\xe2\x80\x99ll make sure that there\xe2\x80\x99s enough petty cash to support operations. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also see to it that vendor invoice processes comply with standards.
Going above and beyond expectations
Client satisfaction is second nature to the person in charge. In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll take on difficult issues and seek out opportunities to improve operations. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be constantly in tune with the team to achieve key performance metrics and meet service level agreements.
In addition, you\xe2\x80\x99ll carry out routine service audits to ensure that the team maintains its overall performance. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be in charge of creating stock reports, meeting minutes and monthly management reports to the clients.
Leading daily property operations
Are you a seasoned facilities expert with solid leadership skills? Working with a team,
you\xe2\x80\x99ll manage the daily client activities for the assigned property or facility. Likewise, you
will implement building procedures and performance measures\xe2\x80\x94and ease the path for
compliance with these. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also boost on-site operations by promoting best practices
and developing better processes. On top of these, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be at the helm of property safety
by encouraging adherence to health and safety standards.
Getting the clients\xe2\x80\x99 thumbs up
You\xe2\x80\x99ll be working frequently with clients\xe2\x80\x94that\xe2\x80\x99s why you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to build strong
relationships with them. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be expected to proactively make sure that the clients\xe2\x80\x99
expectations are always met. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also serve as the main point of contact for any
facilities-related concerns.
Keeping an eye on contracts and the budget
Do you have a proven track record in finance management? In this role, you will take
charge of the site\xe2\x80\x99s budget, accounting and financial operations. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also coordinate
with vendors and suppliers to ensure that they comply with the procurement processes
and deliver quality work practices according to the contract and budget.

Adept at facilities management
You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to have six to eight years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in facilities management or other
related fields to land this job.
A SCEM certification, a working knowledge of occupational
safety, and exposure to life sciences environment may also give you leverage in getting
the job. You must also have a solid background in contract management, budget
supervision, customer service and stakeholder engagement.
The ideal candidate can effectively resolve complex issues through quantitative methods
and holistic approaches. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also need to be a goal-oriented manager who is an expert
in health and safety requirements, vendor management and property technical systems
management. You\xe2\x80\x99ll spend a lot of time working with different kinds of people\xe2\x80\x94that\xe2\x80\x99s why
