What this job involves:



As an Assistant Engineering Manager at JLL, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our facilities management team across multiple client sites, ensuring buildings operate at peak performance while delivering exceptional client experiences. This position combines technical expertise with relationship management as you oversee MEP systems, drive energy efficiency initiatives, and implement innovative solutions that enhance building operations while reducing costs. Your leadership will directly impact both the physical environments we manage and the development of your team members, contributing significantly to JLL's reputation for excellence in facilities management. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge and leadership skills while developing creative solutions that address complex facilities challenges in a dynamic, client-focused environment.



What your day-to-day will look like:



Oversee the maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including HVAC, lighting, water supply, elevators, generators, and fire suppression systems

Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify and address potential safety hazards and maintenance issues before they impact building operations

Develop and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and special client projects, ensuring fiscal responsibility and value delivery

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, and contractors on client renovation projects and system upgrades

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions that enhance their workplace experience

Lead, mentor, and develop your facilities management team, boosting staff satisfaction and fostering a culture of safety and service excellence

Identify and implement energy-efficient solutions and innovative approaches to reduce consumption and operational costs



Required Qualifications:



Proven experience in facilities management or building engineering with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems

Strong technical knowledge of building systems and preventative maintenance protocols

Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing teams in a facilities environment

Excellent client relationship management skills with ability to understand and address diverse stakeholder needs

Strong budgeting and financial management capabilities for maintenance operations and projects

Problem-solving mindset with ability to develop innovative solutions to complex facilities challenges

Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance in building operations.



Preferred Qualifications:



Technical or engineering degree or relevant certifications in facilities management

Experience implementing energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability programs

Knowledge of building automation systems and smart building technologies

Background in project management for renovation or construction projects

Experience with vendor management and service contract administration

Understanding of industry best practices in preventative maintenance

Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to building management
