Assistant Engineer - Electrical Maintenance

Job Purpose:

Assistant Engineer - Electrical Maintenance will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical & automation systems across forging presses, heat treatment furnaces, ESR furnaces, machining equipment and supporting utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in routine maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and components to ensure smooth operations. Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and ensure adherence. Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and automation issues promptly under supervision to minimize downtime. Assist in maintaining and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and other automation systems for critical equipment. Support root cause analysis of breakdowns and help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain records of maintenance activities, spare usage and ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance. Assist in monitoring energy consumption and implement minor efficiency improvement measures. Collaborate with vendors and OEMs for technical support, spares and services as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma in Electrical / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

Experience:

Minimum 4 years experience in electrical maintenance Exposure to maintenance and commissioning of forging presses and heat treatment furnaces is preferred. Hands-on experience with HT, LT and instrumentation systems is desirable

Key Skills & Competencies:

Good understanding of electrical systems, industrial automation, and instrumentation. Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and VFDs. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Awareness of safety standards and regulatory compliance in industrial environments.
