Assistant Engineer – Design

Job Description



1. Design Support:



Assist in the design and development of fixtures, jigs, and gauges used in manufacturing processes.


Develop and design fixtures and gauges based on engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product/process engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production personnel, to understand the requirements and constraints of the manufacturing process.


2. Prototype Development:



Support the fabrication and assembly of prototypes for testing and validation.


Collaborate with the manufacturing team to address issues and optimize designs for production.


3. CAD Modelling :



Utilize the Solid works Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create 3D models and 2D drawings of fixtures and gauges.


Conduct simulations, analyses to ensure the design meets functional, and performance requirements.


4. Tolerance Analysis:



Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure that the fixtures and gauges meet the required precision and accuracy standards.


Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and verify tolerance specifications.


5. Material Selection and Sourcing:



Select appropriate materials for fixture and gauge construction based on factors such as durability, thermal expansion, and cost.


Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials in compliance with quality standards and budget constraints.


6. Cost Estimation:



Provide cost estimates for the fabrication and assembly of fixtures and gauges.


Optimize designs to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or functionality.


7. Documentation:



Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for fixture and gauge designs, including drawings, specifications, and design change records.


Ensure that documentation complies with our Texmo IMS standards and regulations.










8. Time Management:



Prioritizing tasks and allocating time effectively.


Meeting deadlines for problem-solving initiatives.


Balancing the need for thorough analysis with the urgency of addressing issues promptly


9. Continuous Improvement:



Stay informed about the latest advancements in fixture and gauge design, manufacturing technologies, and industry best practices.
