Check and maintain fire extinguishers, fire hydrant systems, smoke detectors, and fire alarm systems as per EHS SOPs.
Conduct training and demonstrations on fire hydrant system operation and fire extinguisher use for site personnel.
Identify and report any unsafe actions, unsafe conditions, or abnormalities to the EHS superior immediately.
Inspect safety showers, eye wash stations, and airline respirator systems for functionality and compliance.
Inspect SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) sets and other life safety equipment (safety belts, ropes, etc.) regularly.
Coordinate with third-party service providers for the maintenance and servicing of fire hydrant pumps, extinguishers, and associated equipment.
Maintain updated logbooks, checklists, and records of inspections, services, and inventories as per EHS SOP formats.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for spare parts and consumables related to firefighting and safety systems.
Support the EHS team in carrying out preventive and corrective actions to avoid incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
Carry out other safety-related tasks as assigned by the EHS Head / HOD from time to time.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in site-level safety drills, mock drills, and fire drills to ensure preparedness.
Assist in vendor coordination and scheduling of preventive maintenance activities.
Support internal and external audits by providing records related to firefighting and safety equipment.
Participate in toolbox talks and awareness sessions conducted by the EHS team.
Assist in training programs to improve knowledge of fire and safety systems.
