You will join our REC department

As our new Assistant Design Engineer - Geotechnical - Bridges & Civils you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated centre of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a centre for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

Programming soil investigation programs

Interpretting geotechnical investigation reports and using appropriate geotechnical / geological design parameters

Geotechnical project work in danish and international infrastructure and building projects, including roads, tramways, railroads, pipelines, solar parks, wind parks, industrial facilities, residential complexes, landfills, ports and more

Geotechnical design and calculations, including stability, settlement, supported excavation, piles, pre-loading, stabilization, geogrid, loading berm, lightening, replacement of soil, ground water, frost heave, mass balance, jet grouting and more

Reporting and preparing design drawings and project documentation

Cost analysis, GHG emissions and environmental impact estimations, and risk assessments

3D/FE Modelling of geotechnical structures

Project meetings, and communicating with clients and other designers

Utilize applicable national and international codes for geotechnical design

Make sure that projects meet legal guidelines

Actively participate in improving your skills, the team and the organization

Must possess 2+ years hands-on design experience, including in the geotechnical design of infrastructure, residential and/or industrial projects

Experience with European design codes (Eurocodes) / British Codes (BS) will be an added advantage

Candidates having experience in working with Multinational Companies / overseas will have an advantage

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plaxis 2D/3D, Slope W, Wallap, UnWedge or similar basic geotechnical software as well as Microsoft Office tools

Knowledge of 3D modelling software (e.g. Civil 3D, Tekla Structures) and programming skills (e.g. Rhino/Grasshopper, Python/VBA) are of special interest

Knowledge of other applicable software (e.g. FLAC 2D/3D, UDEC 2D/3D, Mathcad) would be an advantage

Have good communication skills (spoken, written) in English and be able to collaborate on international projects.

Should be a good team member and should coordinate with other team members and the project manager for a timely delivery of projects

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include having a good balance in being a good team member and independent worker; ability to adapt to a multi-national work culture and openness to learn; low threshold to ask questions, seek assistance and share ideas; desire to develop engineering, communication and leadership skills; good level of written and spoken English.
