Sportskeeda Football (American) is looking for an Assistant Content Manager to lead the NFL/College Football vertical. Your primary responsibilities would include working with the content team, journalists, SEOs, and editors to grow the vertical in terms of content production, quality, timeliness, innovation, traffic, hiring, and revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Content Manager and Senior Content Managers to develop a comprehensive content strategy for the NFL/College Football vertical, aligned with the overall sports vertical strategy and different events throughout the season.
Monitor and achieve traffic targets for various sources (Search, Social, Affiliate, etc.). Identify emerging market and content trends to diversify and keep content fresh and engaging for both NFL/College Football audiences.
Brainstorm and assign innovative topics, create data-driven content schedules, and oversee and champion daily operations--train and onboard new writers, familiarizing them with Sportskeeda's tools, processes, and editorial guidelines.
Maintain high content quality standards for NFL/College Football content, focusing on Sportskeeda's editorial aspects, analytics, and audience engagement.
Co-manage the content team, ensuring efficient workflow, meeting daily quotas, and addressing any issues quickly.
Streamline operations to meet content business goals, such as increasing website visits, ad impressions, and revenue for the NFL/College Football vertical.
Take full ownership of daily content execution for NFL/College Football. Build and maintain content repositories, creating new buckets as and when needed.
Track internal content performance metrics for the respective vertical(s) (average turnaround time, first-to-market, etc.) and identify areas for improvement.
Stay up-to-date on the latest NFL/College Football storylines, crafting SEO-friendly headlines and social-friendly quotes while adhering to Sportskeeda's editorial standards.
Collaborate with the Content Manager on data analysis and R&D to develop data-driven insights that build into the existing content strategy.
Share insights from daily competitor monitoring, identify content gaps, and work with the Content Manager & the Senior Content Managers to address them.
Coordinate and liaise with content, editorial, and SEO teams to ensure timely content delivery and meet internal targets.
Assist Content Managers in recruiting and potentially building YOUR own team for the NFL/College Football verticals.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Assistant Content Manager or similar role in the sports industry. (preferably US sports)
Strong understanding of the US sports market and the key sports involved but not limited to the NFL/College Football landscape (read: NBA/WNBA) including current trends, storylines, and key players.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
A strong analytical and data-driven approach to content creation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for creating engaging sports content.
Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and content creation tools.
Excellent organizational, and documentation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously pertaining to the dynamic nature of the job and the industry.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
A good sense of humor, communication skills, and a sense of empathy - should be able to work with a team that has people from different nationalities, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
