to join our culinary team. The candidate will assist in the preparation and cooking of traditional Indian tandoor dishes such as kebabs, naan, and tandoori meats, ensuring quality, consistency, and hygiene at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of tandoor dishes including naan, roti, kebabs, and tandoori meats.
Support the Tandoor Chef (CDP/Commis 1) with daily mise-en-place and prep work.
Maintain correct cooking temperatures and timings for tandoor items.
Ensure the tandoor station is clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards.
Handle marination and skewering as per recipe and presentation standards.
Follow instructions from senior chefs and maintain portion control.
Report any shortages or quality issues to the Chef de Partie.
Properly store ingredients and maintain FIFO procedures.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in Indian/tandoor kitchens.
Basic knowledge of tandoor operations and Indian spices.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
Ability to work in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or diploma in culinary arts or hotel management.
Experience working in hotels, restaurants, or catering services.
Working Conditions:
High-heat environment (near tandoor oven).
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift weights
