to join our culinary team. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of authentic South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, sambhar, and chutneys while maintaining quality, hygiene, and timely service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook South Indian breakfast and main course items such as dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, sambhar, rasam, and various chutneys.
Assist in daily mise-en-place and ingredient preparation for South Indian section.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstation and kitchen equipment.
Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and plating standards.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and service staff.
Comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP).
Report any shortages, spoilage, or maintenance issues to Chef de Partie.
Support other kitchen sections when required.
Requirements:
2-4 years of experience in a professional kitchen with a focus on South Indian cuisine.
Good knowledge of traditional South Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
Culinary diploma or relevant training preferred.
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Team player with good communication and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in hotel breakfast kitchens or South Indian specialty restaurants.
Food safety certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work early morning shifts (especially for breakfast service).
Physically demanding role - standing for long periods and lifting heavy pots.
Work during weekends and holidays as required.
