, a contemporary [casual dining / lounge / gastropub]. As Commis 2, you will assist in food preparation, support the senior chefs in day-to-day kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Commis 1 and CDP in preparing ingredients and basic cooking tasks (cutting, peeling, marinating, etc.).
Follow instructions and daily prep schedules as given by senior chefs.
Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards at your workstation.
Support in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen section before and after service.
Store food items properly and follow FIFO and HACCP standards.
Assist in portioning and plating under supervision, especially during service rush.
Learn and adapt to different kitchen sections (hot, cold, pantry, grill, etc.) as assigned.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
Follow all standard operating procedures and kitchen rules consistently.
Requirements:
0.5 to 1.5 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food safety.
Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to take direction well.
Ability to handle basic kitchen tools and equipment safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts / Hotel Management (preferred).
Experience in a casual dining, lounge, or bar kitchen is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced kitchen with flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Standing for long hours and working under pressure during busy service periods.
