for Faculty Positions in the Department of

Psychology (Counselling Stream)

at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (Autonomous), Coimbatore -- a leading institution committed to academic excellence and holistic education.

Discipline: M.Sc. Counselling Psychology

Positions Available: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor

Educational Qualification (As per UGC / Bharathiar University Norms):

Ph.D.

in Psychology or Counselling Psychology is

mandatory for Assistant Professor

.

Master's Degree

in Counselling Psychology / Applied Psychology / Clinical Psychology or equivalent with

a minimum of 55% marks

(or an equivalent grade).

Experience Required:

Assistant Professor:

Minimum

8 years

of teaching / research / clinical experience with publications in refereed journals, counselling experience with proven academic leadership and research guidance record.

Areas of Specialization (Preferred):

Counselling and Psychotherapy Clinical and Abnormal Psychology Psychological Testing and Assessment Guidance and Career Counselling Behavioural Modification and Positive Psychology Child and Adolescent Counselling Research Methodology and Psychological Statistics

Roles and Responsibilities:

Teach and mentor students in undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs. Supervise student dissertations, internships, and field training in counselling practice. Design and update curriculum aligned with

NEP 2020

and emerging psychological research. Conduct and publish research in recognized journals. Facilitate mental health awareness programs, workshops, and extension activities. Collaborate with hospitals, NGOs, and wellness centres for field training and outreach. Contribute to the institution's

Student Wellness and Counselling Centre

initiatives.

Desirable Attributes:

Strong theoretical knowledge combined with clinical or counselling practice experience. Proficiency in psychometric testing, data analysis, and documentation. Empathetic and student-centered approach to teaching and mentoring. Commitment to promoting holistic well-being and emotional health among students.
