Senior IT Asset Manager

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior IT Asset Manager to join our team in Bangalore. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading the comprehensive management of our hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance, and driving cost-saving initiatives across the entire asset lifecycle. You will serve as a subject matter expert and a key partner to our finance, procurement and IT teams, reporting directly to the Director of End User Services & ITSM.

What You'll Do

Strategic Oversight & Lifecycle Management

Develop and execute

a comprehensive strategy for the full lifecycle of all IT assets, from acquisition to disposal.

Lead the creation and enforcement of policies

for asset and license management, ensuring they align with business objectives and industry best practices.

Oversee and optimize

asset refresh and retirement processes to maximize value and minimize risk.

Financial & Compliance Oversight

Manage software license entitlements and renewals

to ensure continuous compliance and mitigate audit risks.

Collaborate closely with Procurement and Finance

to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and identify cost-saving opportunities through asset reuse, right-sizing, and license reallocation.

Provide strategic financial analysis

and generate high-level reports on asset utilization and compliance to support senior leadership in cost optimization decisions.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead and mentor

junior team members, providing guidance and training on asset management processes.

Serve as a primary point of contact

for internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurately maintained and readily available.

Drive cross-functional collaboration

with IT, Security, and other departments to ensure assets and licenses are managed effectively and securely.

Develop and deliver

clear reports and dashboards on asset utilization, compliance status, and potential savings to a wide range of stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

A minimum of

10+ years

of hands-on experience in a senior or lead IT asset management role, with proven experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment, including leading or mentoring a team.

Technical Expertise:

You have deep, hands-on experience with

IT asset management (ITAM) and software asset management (SAM) tools

. You possess a strong understanding of the

ITIL/ITSM framework

, with a specific focus on how incident, change, and problem management relate to the asset lifecycle. You are also experienced in managing IT assets in a modern enterprise environment with a mix of on-premise, cloud, and SaaS applications.

Leadership & Problem-Solving:

You have exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with a demonstrated ability to solve complex, high-impact problems. You can lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.

Professionalism:

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and a commitment to operational excellence.

Work Environment:

You are a collaborative team player and willing to work in our Bangalore office.
