The IT Asset Coordinator is responsible for end-to-end management of IT assets within the manufacturing plant, ensuring accurate tracking, availability, compliance, and lifecycle governance of end-user and plant IT equipment. The role acts as the single point of coordination between plant operations, central IT, vendors, and finance for all IT asset-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets, including desktops, laptops, handhelds, printers, scanners, network devices, and plant-floor IT equipment.
Manage asset lifecycle activities: procurement coordination, asset tagging, deployment, transfers, repairs, replacements, and secure decommissioning.
Ensure compliance with corporate IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, license requirements, and audit standards.
Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for warranty tracking, repairs, and replacements.
Track asset movement across production areas, warehouses, and offices; ensure zero asset leakage.
Maintain and update asset records in ITSM/ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC, or equivalent).
Monitor spares inventory and recommend replenishment to avoid operational downtime.
Ensure secure handling and data sanitization of assets during disposal as per security policies.
Support cost optimization initiatives through asset utilization analysis and reuse.
Required Skills & Experience:
2-5 years of experience in IT Asset Management or EUC support, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
Working knowledge of ITSM/ITAM tools and asset audit processes.
Understanding of hardware lifecycle, warranties, and software licensing basics.
Ability to work in a shop-floor/plant environment with multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with manufacturing plant operations and shift-based environments.
