Qualification & Experience

ITI / Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in assembly of special purpose machines (SPM) or similar industrial equipment. Strong knowledge of machine tool assembly, alignment, and precision fitting. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents. Experience in using hand tools, measuring instruments, and basic machining equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in the mechanical assembly and sub-assembly of special purpose machines as per design drawings and specifications. Support engineers in the fitting, alignment, and adjustment of machine components during assembly. Operate surface grinding machines to achieve precise flatness, surface finish, and parallelism of components. Interpret and work with detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions. Assemble mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components as per standard procedures. Perform pre-assembly and final assembly checks to ensure all components meet quality and dimensional requirements Collaborate with the design and production teams to identify and resolve fitment or alignment issues during machine build. Conduct basic functional testing of assembled machines to ensure proper operation before handover to the testing team. Assist in machine trials, commissioning activities, and final installation at the client site if required. Maintain proper housekeeping, tool care, and follow safety protocols during all assembly operations. Document assembly activities, issues, and modifications made during the build process. Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards throughout the assembly phase. Work closely with other departments (procurement, design, and testing) to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery. Handle material and components with care to avoid damage or quality issues. Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of machines during and after assembly. Be flexible to travel to customer sites for installation or service support if required.
