Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Core & Coil Assembler to join our transformer production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling the magnetic core and winding coils for distribution and power transformers ranging from 315 kVA to 5 MVA. This role requires hands-on experience in transformer assembly, good understanding of electrical insulation techniques, and precision in mechanical handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble magnetic cores using laminated steel sheets as per design drawings and specifications. Prepare and install LV (Low Voltage) and HV (High Voltage) windings on the core limbs using proper alignment and insulation methods. Ensure accurate placement of insulation materials, spacers, and other structural components in line with electrical and mechanical design requirements. Conduct dimensional checks, clamping, and tightening of core structures to ensure mechanical stability. Identify and resolve alignment issues, winding damages, or insulation faults during assembly. Follow proper handling procedures for core and coils to prevent damage and maintain electrical integrity. Collaborate with design and testing teams for quality assurance and pre-tank testing of assembled units. Maintain a clean and safe working area, following all safety and EHS protocols. Document work activities, report issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field. 3+ years of experience in transformer core & coil assembly (315 kVA - 5 MVA range preferred). Good understanding of transformer construction, insulation systems, and assembly standards (e.g., IS, IEC). Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions. Familiarity with use of overhead cranes, hoists, and precision measuring tools. Attention to detail, quality-focused, and physically fit for manual handling tasks.

Preferred:

Experience in oil-immersed transformer assembly. Knowledge of vacuum drying and core-coil drying processes. Ability to work in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.

Work Conditions:

Factory floor environment with exposure to heavy equipment and lifting. Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required. May involve overtime or shift work depending on production demands.
