Established in 2002, by Ashvin E. Rajagopalan, Ashvitas is a diversified art business specialising in Indian Art and collectibles. Headquartered in Chennai, Ashvitas conducts museum-quality exhibitions and operates ashvitas.com, a premier online auction house. Ashvitas provides a vast range of art services that include private acquisitions and sales, wealth management, valuation, conservation, archival services, display and art logistics. Ashvitas works with select individual collectors, corporate collections, and institutions. Ashvitas has developed cultural programming and events with critics, art historians, and artists including public talks, film screenings, performances, studio visits and workshops. Our education department is focused on audience engagement across schools and colleges, as well as on publishing in-depth books on Indian Art.Over the last 20 years, Ashvitas has increased its footprint to provide its services nationally with offices in Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi. Ashvitas works with a global network of art professionals to be able to provide one-stop solutions for art collectors.The Associate - Director's Office at Ashvitas will work closely to support the Director and should thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment of a Start-Up. The ideal candidate would act as an advisor and help in strategic planning and project management of the company. The ideal candidate for this role is able to work independently from instruction, and applies a problem-solving mindset when faced with challenges. This is a full-time role on a fixed contract.Please note:

  • The vetting process for this role comprises 2-3 rounds of interviews and may be followed by a brief assignment.

RequirementsEssential Qualifications:
A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is essential.
Proficiency with productivity tools (Google Workspace/MS Office, Notion, Slack, etc.)
Familiarity with project management tools like Asana, Slack, Trello etc., and with digital advertising platforms, social media marketing tools and mass mailing software is ideal.Essential Experience:
3-5 years in a strategic executive support or chief-of-staff type role.
Prior experience in working for a structured company or arts organization.Interest in art and culture is preferred.Key Personal Attributes & Skills:
Prior work experience as an Executive Business Partner to a C-Suite, Business Manager, and other executive-level support functions is required.
Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes as the Directors thought partner.
Ability to create project management structures, systems, and processes and follow through both personally and with team members
Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
An understanding of how to approach diverse stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and good observation skills
Ability to produce clear, coherent creative briefs and project reports and organise a daily workload by priorities
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English; knowledge of one Indian vernacular language is desirable.
