core Technical Skills

3-5 years of experience with IBM i / AS400 systems Expert-level proficiency in RPG, RPGLE (Free and Fixed), CL, CLLE Strong expertise in DB2/400, SQL, performance tuning, and indexing Experience with IBM i system administration concepts (jobs, subsystems, libraries, security) Hands-on experience with debugging, profiling, and performance optimization

Integration and Modernization

Experience integrating IBM i with Java, .NET, web applications, or cloud platforms Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, FTP/SFTP Exposure to IBM i modernization tools and strategies

Tools and Methodologies

Experience with change management and version control tools (Aldon, TurnOver, Git) Understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and DevOps practices

Nice-to-Have

Experience in automobile, banking, insurance, manufacturing, or retail domains Knowledge of UI modernization tools (WebSphere, Node.js, React, etc.) IBM certifications related to IBM i / RPG
