Job Description

The Art Educator is responsible for designing and delivering engaging art instruction that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skill development. This role involves teaching art techniques, art history, and visual literacy while creating an inclusive and inspiring learning environment for diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver age-appropriate art lessons aligned with curriculum standards or program goals Teach a variety of media and techniques (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital art) Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical analysis of artwork Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback Maintain a safe, organized, and well-supplied classroom or studio environment Integrate art history, cultural context, and contemporary art practices into lessons Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, or community partners Organize and support exhibitions, showcases, or student art displays Manage classroom behavior and promote respectful, inclusive learning Stay current with best practices in art education and instructional methods
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master's preferred for some institutions) Teaching certification Demonstrated proficiency in multiple art media and techniques Experience teaching students of varying ages and abilities Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Passion for arts education and student development
