Job Description

Position: Art & Design Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE & A Level)

We are seeking an inspired and inspiring Art & Design educator to work with school students including Grades 9-12 and guide them through the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum. This role calls for someone who sees art as a powerful language of expression and is passionate about mentoring young artists in their creative and technical journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Art & Design syllabus. Support students in exploring a range of media, techniques, and artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, digital art, mixed media, sculpture, and photography. Guide learners in developing a strong and reflective portfolio of coursework and personal investigations as per Cambridge assessment requirements. Foster critical thinking, visual literacy, and personal expression in students. Provide constructive, individualized feedback and mentor students in refining their artistic identity. Prepare students for internal and external assessments, ensuring clarity in meeting syllabus objectives. Organize exhibitions, critique sessions, and student-led showcases of work. Maintain an inspiring, well-resourced, and safe studio environment.

Skills and Experience Required:

Proven experience in teaching Art & Design at the IGCSE and/or A Level (Cambridge or equivalent international curricula). A strong personal portfolio of artistic work and/or a record of student work. Proficiency with a range of media and techniques, including digital tools. Strong understanding of art history, visual analysis, and contextual studies. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to guide students in self-directed learning, research, and reflection.

Qualifications:

A degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Design, or related field is essential. Teacher training or certification preferred. Familiarity with Cambridge assessment standards preferred
