Suraj School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Art and Craft Teacher to join our team of educators. As an Art and Craft Teacher, you will have the opportunity to ignite students' creativity, foster their artistic expression, and instill a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various art mediums, pedagogical expertise, and a passion for empowering students through hands-on creative experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver engaging art and craft lessons that cater to the diverse interests, abilities, and learning styles of students. Introduce students to a wide range of artistic techniques, mediums, and styles, including drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and mixed media. Provide instruction on fundamental principles of art and design, such as composition, color theory, perspective, and form. Encourage experimentation, exploration, and risk-taking in the creative process, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Incorporate elements of art history, cultural traditions, and contemporary artists into lesson plans to broaden students' understanding of artistic expression and cultural heritage. Facilitate hands-on art projects and craft activities that promote fine motor skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art and craft activities across the curriculum, enhancing interdisciplinary connections and enriching the learning experience. Showcase students' artwork through exhibitions, displays, and community events, celebrating their achievements and fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment. Maintain a safe and organized art studio environment, ensuring proper use and care of materials, tools, and equipment. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, upcoming projects, and opportunities for involvement in art-related activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Previous teaching experience in art education, preferably in a K-12 educational setting. Proficiency in various art mediums and techniques, with a strong portfolio demonstrating artistic skills and creativity. Knowledge of art history, cultural diversity, and contemporary trends in the visual arts. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Passion for nurturing creativity, fostering self-expression, and empowering students through art and craft education. Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in art education.
