Job Overview:

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art and Craft Teacher to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for inspiring young minds and helping students develop their artistic talents. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging art and craft lessons for students in classes 1 through 8, fostering creativity and self-expression in a structured and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning

: Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum for art and craft that aligns with school standards and fosters creativity, skill development, and artistic expression in students.

Classroom Instruction

: Teach art and craft classes to students from grades 1 to 8, ensuring that lessons are engaging, age-appropriate, and hands-on.

Material Preparation

: Manage and organize art supplies, ensuring that materials are available for each lesson and are used efficiently.

Student Development

: Encourage and guide students to explore different techniques, mediums, and styles, promoting their artistic growth and building confidence in their abilities.

Assessment and Feedback

: Regularly assess student progress through observation, classwork, and projects, and provide constructive feedback on their development.

Classroom Management

: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring that students adhere to classroom rules and work collaboratively.

Promote Creativity

: Foster a love for art and craft through various classroom activities, including seasonal projects, exhibitions, and school events.

Parent Communication

: Provide updates to parents about their child's progress in art and craft, and encourage their involvement in school art projects.

Professional Development

: Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions to continually improve teaching practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience teaching art and craft to students, preferably in a school setting (at least 2 years preferred). Strong knowledge of various art techniques, media, and creative processes. Ability to inspire creativity and self-expression in students of all ages. Excellent classroom management skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children. Knowledge of the school curriculum and ability to integrate art into other subjects. Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, parents, and the school community.

Desirable:

Experience with organizing school art exhibitions, competitions, or other creative school events. Knowledge of current trends in children's art education. Basic understanding of art history and its integration into the classroom.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
School holidays and breaks as per the school calendar.
